Becoming a vet tech sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Working with animals and veterinarians all day… what could be better? Well working with animals is just the beginning. Becoming a vet tech is your chance to grow in many ways.

Feeling satisfied and fulfilled in your job is one of the best ways to grow in your career. Working as a vet tech will do this. As hard as being a vet tech can be at times, it is also rewarding in so many ways. Working with animals and helping in their care and being a part of their recovery is an amazing feeling, and one that leads to personal success and growth.

Working as the right hand of a veterinarian is also part of what a vet tech does, and is another way you’ll grow in your career. Learning from working with veterinarians and other animal experts will allow you to grow in your job and become more and more of an animal care expert.

Another opportunity for growth as a vet tech is to branch out of the standard small animal care facility and look for other areas of interest including exotics, large animal care, rescue facilities and shelters, wildlife sanctuaries and even zoos. The sky’s the limit!

Finally, as a vet tech you’ll have the chance to grow in your field. There is an anticipated growth rate of 36 percent in vet tech positions in the next five years, one of the fastest growing careers. The demand for vet techs is high and the job outlook is great!
